Bigsby Getting Stuck
on: March 29, 2011, 04:44

Hi there.

I have a 2008 Brian Setzer Signature Nashville guitar with a B6 Bigsby on it. Being my first guitar, I'm not sure if this is normal or not, but when using the bigsby, it throws my guitar out of tune. I had the guitar setup and was told that the bigsby is getting stuck and not returning. The nut has been opened up a bit to let the string slide easier (stock nut), but it still happens. Any suggestions?

Thank you.

Hopefully I've posted this in the right place, I do apologise if I haven't.

Hello Rene,

It isn't normal for the B6 on your Setzer 6120 to get stuck. You mention that the nut has already been worked on which leads me to believe that there is a burr in one or more of the saddles. Its an easy remedy with a little abrasive cord. Check out this link for a more detailed description:

This should make your 6120 play great. If you have any other questions, just let us know.

Hi Adam.

Thanks for the tip, I shall have my guitar dude have a look at the saddle and see where that leads me.

Regards,

René
