Set Screws in Bottom of Bridge Posts

Ok so I have a bigsby B5 that will be for a future build.

Being like the rest of us here, I was thrilled that it came in pieces thereby saving me the time to take it apart! How thoughtful of the manufacture!

I have examined it closely and have one question.

In the bottom of the bridge pins, (the parts that extend into the bridge cups), are two little tiny set screws.

On the one that I have (New in the box by the way!) the set screws do not seem to serve a purpose. The bridge pins extend for a total of .75 of an inch. The bridge cups are .83 of an inch deep. Meaning that the set screws as they are set are never going to touch the bottom of the bridge cups.

What are they there for, and are mine adjusted wrong.

Photos attached

Thanks,

Guy
