Arm stop??
on: November 19, 2011, 13:29

I bought a Gibson Midtown Standard about a month ago. In 48 years od electric guitar playing, this is my first Bigsby, a B70.

It doesn't have much range, but does what I want a vibrato for.

The question: WHY does it have that stop for the handle so you can't pivot it up further toward the strings? Second question: Would it affect the structural integrity if I took it off on a grinder???

(Mt guess is the stop is there because PA put it on and nobody since has had the stones to challenge his ghost!)

It's been a long time you post your message, but I am new on this forum… To answer your question, lot of people finding it more convenient to use without the armstop ground it off. I have done so, and it fits my playing style. So why not for you?
